More often than not we forget that small accessories and items in our home can add a big touch to the overall decor and feel of a house.

Here are some tips to remember when accessorizing your place.

Lights:

An unusual lamp, unique light fixture or even ceiling lights can add a whole lot to the space. Not only are they practical when used, but these lights will automatically brighten up the room.

Mirrors:

The easiest way to make a room look bigger! These days mirrors come in all shapes, colors and sizes and add wonders to a house.

Rugs:
While full floor carpets are somewhat outdated, rugs are most certainly not. Different structures and materials as well as sizes and colors make it easier for you to mix and match the rug to your furniture and decor.

Yes they are mainly used on a couch, but big sized cushions and pillows are also a great addition to any corner and can a lot of style and color.

If you’re lucky enough to have a large or high window, then create a little window seat or nook. Not only are you creating an extra seat but you’re also adding a different touch to the living room.

Stick to a theme and style as adding more plants can be overwhelming. Make sure you take care of them too.

Art:
Wall art and wall decor are the easiest way to style your home. You don’t have to stick right traditional framed art, you can always go for 3D stick-on -art, chalk boards or even paint or illustrate the wall yourself.

Vases and Frames:
Available in almost all homes, try and be more creative when it comes to picking out picture frames and vases, as there are hundreds of styles out there for you to choose from, that not only serve their purpose but easily decorate the house as well.
